Meet our newest Team Member: Amie Howard!
Join us in welcoming Amie to the team! We are thrilled to bring her experience and expertise aboard to help us answer customer questions and process orders.
Some of you may recognize Amie from our HorseDriver group or from driving events in Texas. Mindy and Amie are coordinating to be sure we’re responding to all our many customer inquiries, and I know she’ll be a great benefit to the HorseDriver Team for a long time to come. WELCOME AMIE!
Hello HorseDriver friends! I am Amie Howard, the newest team member here at Chimacum Tack. After many years of being a customer, fan, proponent, and champion of everything Chimacum Tack, I think Mindy and Maren decided they should just go ahead and hire me!
I have been involved with horses in one way or another for most of my life. I spent 10 years working as a vet tech at an equine vet clinic, and more than a decade training horses for the public. Over the years I have shown all around western horses, western pleasure horses, and reiners. I have dabbled with jumping, dressage, endurance, trail competitions and probably a little of everything else along the way including a million pleasure trail miles and every clinic I could get to. I have a degree in equine science and an MBA, so these days I spend most of my time in an office.
About 15 years ago, I traded for my first driving animal, a mammoth jenny, and I have been hooked on driving ever since. A few years ago, I lost my riding partner/heart horse and decided to really focus on driving. With that shift in focus came an interest in refining my driving skills and in learning to drive multiples. These days I am focusing on CDE goals. I consider myself a student of horsemanship – I hope that I never stop learning about better ways to train and relate to my equine friends, and about better equipment to make them happier and more comfortable in our work.
