The other day I had a customer ask me for some photos of the ComfyFit harness on draft horses and realized we didn’t have very many at all! So, I went out to our Facebook page, HorseDriver, and asked customers to share their photos of draft horses wearing their ComfyFit harnesses and was not disappointed. In fact, the photos were so great I felt they needed their own blog post. I have permission to use these on our website!
What is different about the Draft size ComfyFit Harness?
The main difference is the width of the bridle cheeks. On a draft horse bridle these are usually 1″ wide. The issue with this is sometimes a 1″ wide strap will not fit through the top of your bit. If you are using a liverpool bit the purchase is typically narrower than 1″. If that is your concern have no fear! We can make the ComfyFit Draft sized bridle with 3/4″ wide cheeks as well
The Draft sized ComfyFit is NOT kept in stock. That means if you order a Draft sized ComfyFit it will be “custom” made. This takes between 6-8 weeks, so plan accordingly!
The other differences are obvious in that Draft horses have wider rumps and chests, and are typically massive EVERYWHERE. The harness parts are sized accordingly, so nothing looks like it was made for a smaller equine. Countryside is very aware of sizing harness according to the equine’s size. The mini harness is appropriately sized for their small bodies and the Draft sized harness is appropriately sized for their larger bodies!
I love all the thought that has gone into every part of the ComfyFit harness – no matter what size equine it is going to be on!
